Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and German Vice Chancellor and Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil considered Ukraine’s requirements for funding weapon production and procurement, as well as strengthening Ukrainian air defenses during their meeting.

The parties devoted special attention to enhancing joint ventures, specifically in drone manufacturing, and implementing bilateral projects with the German arms corporation Rheinmetall.
During the meeting, Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine greatly appreciates Germany’s intention to provide two Patriot systems.

He expressed thanks to Germany for steadfast backing and indicated Ukraine anticipates further effective cooperation for the security of all of Europe.
As Ukrinform reported on August 1, Germany’s Defense Ministry stated the Bundeswehr would supply Ukraine with additional Patriot air defense launching systems.
