During January-May 2026, goods worth $40.5 billion were imported into Ukraine, and $17.5 billion were exported.
As Ukrinform reports, this was announced by the State Customs Service on Telegram.
According to the agency, taxable imports for this period amounted to $27.8 billion, or 69% of the total import volumes.
The tax burden per 1 kg of taxable imports in January-May was $0.56/kg.
The largest volume of goods was imported into Ukraine from China – for $11.1 billion, Poland – for $3.9 billion, and Turkey – for $2.7 billion.
The largest exports from Ukraine were to Poland – for $2 billion, Turkey – for $1.5 billion, and Italy – for $1.1 billion.

The total volume of goods imported over the 5 months of 2026 consisted of the following categories:
- machinery, equipment, and transport ( $17 billion, with UAH 95.9 billion paid to the budget during the customs clearance of these goods, or 27% of customs revenue);
- fuel and energy products ($6.4 billion, with UAH 126.2 billion in customs payments received);
- chemical industry products ($5.7 billion, with UAH 47.2 billion in customs payments received).
The top three most exported goods from Ukraine included:
- food products ($10.6 billion); ️
- metals and articles thereof ($1.7 billion);
- machinery, equipment, and transport ($1.5 billion).
In January-May 2026, UAH 744.3 million was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of exported goods subject to export duty.
As Ukrinform reported, last year the trade turnover amounted to $125.1 billion. Goods worth $84.8 billion were imported into Ukraine, and $40.3 billion were exported.
