Ukraine occupies a spot in the bottom five

The Institute for Economics and Peace has released its annual ranking of the world’s safest countries.
The top five safest nations include Iceland, which has consistently held the top position since 2008, followed by New Zealand, Switzerland, Slovenia, and Ireland.
During the research, experts analyzed the lives of people in 163 countries across three domains: the level of social safety and security, the extent of ongoing internal and international conflicts, and the degree of militarization.
Ukraine ranked 160th in the report, placing it among the bottom five safest countries globally. Other nations in this group include Israel, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and the Russian Federation.
The ranking of the world’s safest countries has been compiled annually since 2007. Researchers indicate that global peace is currently at its lowest point since the inception of this ranking.
As previously reported by Investory News, the countries that became the least corrupt in 2025 have been identified.
