Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Kurets stated that he will discuss with parliamentarians and the Ministry of Finance the matter of introducing a free economic zone for frontline areas.
“Regarding initiatives, including such as a free economic zone for frontline regions – we just agreed before the hour of questions to the government that there will be a meeting, and we will discuss this initiative,” Kurets said during the “hour of questions to the government” in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, responding to a question on whether the government plans to introduce a special economic regime for frontline territories with tax benefits.
He added that information is needed from the Ministry of Finance on how this will affect the budget and where the funds will come from.
“The idea itself, in essence, is interesting, high-quality, and constructive. Now, we need to consider the form – how to provide it with funds,” the prime minister emphasized.
Additionally, he noted that the government is also discussing the issue of additional benefits for people from frontline territories.
