During January-May 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth $40.5 billion and exported goods worth $17.5 billion.
As Ukrinform reports, this was announced by the State Customs Service on Telegram.
According to the agency, taxable imports for this period amounted to $27.8 billion, or 69% of the total import volumes.
The tax burden per 1 kg of taxable imports in January-May was $0.56/kg.
The largest volume of goods was imported into Ukraine from China – worth $11.1 billion, Poland – worth $3.9 billion, and Turkey – worth $2.7 billion.
The largest exports from Ukraine were to Poland – worth $2 billion, Turkey – worth $1.5 billion, and Italy – worth $1.1 billion.

In the total volume of goods imported over 5 months of 2026, the following categories accounted for 72%:
- machinery, equipment, and transport (17 billion dollars, with customs clearance of these goods contributing UAH 95.9 billion to the budget, or 27% of customs revenue);
- fuel and energy products (6.4 billion dollars, receiving UAH 126.2 billion in customs payments);
- chemical industry products (5.7 billion dollars, receiving UAH 47.2 billion in customs payments).
The top three most exported goods from Ukraine included:

- metals and their products ($1.7 billion);
- machinery, equipment, and transport ($1.5 billion).
In January-May 2026, customs clearance of exported goods subject to export duty resulted in UAH 744.3 million paid to the budget.
As Ukrinform reported, last year the trade turnover amounted to $125.1 billion. Goods worth $84.8 billion were imported into Ukraine, and goods worth $40.3 billion were exported.
